| Do this on crack? |
|
When I was a teacher...Yes, I was a teacher for 10 years. Junior high math and science to be exact. What, you think teachers don't smoke crack? Well, I never thought I would, but it happened. Don't believe me? Google it. When I was a teacher I use to have this poster of the Navy Blue Angels fying in a tight formation and the caption read "You can't do this on drugs." Well, at the time I pushed the "don't do drugs" campain just as much as the next guy. I remember telling my students that if they ever wanted to be a pilot, doctor, lawyer, teacher, etc.. then they can't do drugs. Isn't it funny how whenever we are talking to kids about how they should make good choices so when they grow up they can be somebody, we always use the career path of 2% of the actual working force. Why don't we tell them that they shouldn't do drugs if they want to be a mommy or daddy. They shouldn't do drugs if they want to be a Starbucks Barista or a truck driver? Drugs do not care who you are and crack will possess anyone who tries it just ONE time. I don't care who you are or what you do. I don't care how responsible and respected you are. I don't care where you came from or what your moral standard is.....crack can still get you, possess you, and ruin your life as long as you allow it to.... You can't fly planes on crack, you can't drive a truck on crack, you can't mop floors on crack because if you allow it to possess you all you will care about is getting more no matter what the cost. Yes, we should teach our kids and adults that using drugs, especially crack, could ruin dreams of becoming a pilot or even nurse or President of the United States, but lets take it a step futher and teach that NO ONE can ever expect to be anything worthwhile if crack is given even one chance to impress...becasue it WILL, and the battle to get your life back will be the hardest thing you will EVER do. |
