| Feeling Defeated? |
|
Defeat is one of those wonderful words in the English language where its meaning depends on the "context" with which one uses it. That is if we allow crack to "defeat US" The great thing about defeat is that it can go both ways. When I looked up the definition for "defeat" in the dictionary, the first definition listed was actually addressed in a "positive" context: "to overcome in a contest" As with ANY contest, the outcome is in our hands. Defeat, can be applied rather than received! In Hebrews 12:1 Paul tells us: "Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin (CRACK) which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." We can look at our journey to crack freedom as a race. A race that requires the ultimate in endurance. A race that can be won if we determine in our hearts that we will be the defeater and not the defeated. Let us all receive "Hearty Enjoyment" by defeating crack! Crack will lose its power over us when we can think of "defeat" as a positive outcome in our favor instead of the alternative. |
