A crack addcit does not need money in order to use crack.

We can find so many ways to get it without money.

The first 3 years of my using I pretty much always had money and spent a lot of it on crack.

Toward the end of my using I became desperate to get it any way I could. My wife had taken all my money, credit cards,etc..

I had pawned almost everything of value in the house in a 3 week period.

One night around 3AM I was still on a 3 day binge from the money I got pawning stuff. I was out of money, out of stuff to pawn and had no car or bike or roller skates.

I was determined to get more. As I sat on the couch trying to figure out how I could get some without robbing a liquor store, I thought about the "freezer"

Hmm, I wonder what is in the freezer that I might use to get some crack.

I went and looked and there were 5 frozen pizzas, 3 boxes of hot pockets, and a large bag of taquitos. "Jackpot!"

I loaded all the frozen delights into my backpack, snuck out the back door and walked 6 miles to the crack-hotel where I had been 20 times over the past 3 days.

When I got there, I unpacked the food, laid it out on the parking lot and asked all the "runners" there how much I could get for the food.

Needless to say, most of them laughed at me.

However, one guy must have been really hungry and game me a "dime" rock for all the food.

I took it and walked the 6 miles back home and as you know, the "dime" was gone in 5 minutes.

How insane!! I walked 12 miles with a backpack full of frozen food so I could get high for 5 minutes.

Since finding liberation from crack my heart has chnaged. Even if I get a craving, I think about some of the stupid things I did to get it, and my heart tells me, "Dude, you don't want to have to go through all that crap just to get high for a few minutes and then go through the lying afterward.

I love the freedom I have from not having to chase it and act like a complete moron to get it.

Just thought I would share that.
